The Divine Liturgy
The Divine Liturgy is the central act of worship in the Orthodox Church. It is a participation in the life of heaven itself, a timeless offering of prayer, Scripture, and the Holy Eucharist. Our services are celebrated in both Romanian and English, uniting our community in the ancient faith passed down from the Apostles
What to Expect
When you enter St. John Cassian Romanian Orthodox Church, you step into a tradition that has remained unchanged for nearly two thousand years. Our worship engages all the senses: the sight of golden icons, the scent of incense rising as our prayers, the sound of Byzantine chant, and the taste of the Eucharist.
- Services last approximately 1.5 hours
- You may stand or sit as needed (standing is traditional but not required)
- Feel free to light a candle, venerate icons, or simply observe
- Communion is reserved for baptized and chrismated Orthodox Christians who have prepared through prayer and fasting
- Everyone is welcome to receive blessed bread (antidoron) at the end of the service
There's no pressure.Just come and experience the timeless beauty of Orthodox worship.
